Guest Bloggers

I have invited colleagues whose work I have known and respected for decades to contribute a blog from time to time. Today, Selma Wassermann has one on “Individualized Reading” and its return from the 1950s and 1960s reincarnated as “Reading Workshop.”

Selma Wassermann is Professor Emerita in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada.  Her books include Serious Players in the Primary Classroom, The New Teaching Elementary Science: Who’s Afraid of Spiders, Introduction to Case Method Teaching:  A Guide to the Galaxy, Teaching for Thinking Today: Theory, Strategies and Activities for the K-8 Classroom and This Teaching Life.
